Frequently asked questions about M3U playlist validation

What is an M3U playlist and how does the validator work?
An M3U playlist is a text file containing a list of stream URLs, used by IPTV apps like TiviMate, IPTV Smarters, Kodi, and VLC. Our M3U checker tests each URL in your playlist by sending a real request from your browser, then reports which channels are online, slow, or dead — without storing any data on our servers.
Why are my IPTV channels showing as dead or timing out?
Dead channels usually mean the stream URL has expired, the server is down, or your ISP is blocking the connection. If most of your channels show as dead, try using a VPN to bypass ISP restrictions. If only a few are dead, contact your IPTV provider for an updated playlist.
What is the difference between Online, Reachable, Slow and Dead?
Online — the stream URL responded successfully and is ready to play. Reachable — the server is responding but browser security (CORS) prevents full verification; the channel will likely work in your IPTV app. Slow — the channel responds but takes more than 3 seconds, which may cause buffering. Dead — the URL does not respond at all within the timeout limit.
How do I fix M3U links that are not working?
First, use this M3U checker to identify which specific channels are dead. For a few dead links, contact your IPTV provider. If most links are failing, try: 1) refreshing your M3U URL from your provider's portal, 2) connecting through a VPN in case your ISP is blocking streams, or 3) switching to a different IPTV provider.
Can I download only the working channels from my playlist?
Yes. After the check is complete, click the "Export working channels" button to download a new M3U file containing only the active and reachable channels. You can then import this cleaned playlist into TiviMate, IPTV Smarters, Kodi, or any other IPTV player.
Is my playlist data safe? Does the validator store my URLs?
Your playlist is 100% private. All validation happens directly in your browser using JavaScript — no playlist data, URLs, or credentials are ever sent to our servers. You can verify this by checking your browser's Network tab in developer tools.
